Internet Direct (1995)

Internet Direct was the first commercial job I had that was internet related (American Express before that). I'm posting this just for fun. Internet Direct was one of the first internet companies in the entire country. We had 300 bps and 1200 bps modems and a single DX/2 server. I was the head system admin and we ran BSDi 0.96 for everything. |
The GoSite was the product that caused the company to get sold. The GoSite was the first commercial virtual server solution ever. This was way before apache!!!

Talk about way back when. This is a page from the manual. Look at the version numbers on these things. Remember that our customers would FTP files over a SLIP connection or the 'new' 9600 bps PPP

My first internet related employment contact. I wish they had stock options back then!

I still have this, it's my own little copyright. This is the source to I-Server which is the first version of GoSite which sold to a major ISP which is now Earthlink. Someone got WAY RICH off the source in this package, not me.
